About Robert Cope

Robert is biracial, with Ugandan and English heritage. He was born in England but moved to Africa at three months old and lived the first five years of his life in Kenya before the family returned to the UK. Robert’s passions include African culture, music, and food, and is a regular reviewer in the London theatre scene.

technical experience

Over 15 Years Experience inIT & Libraries

Robert has significant experience in IT Helpdesk roles, and has taught HTML classes to both university students and faculty members. Whilst working in the library service, Robert ran drop-in helpdesk sessions in libraries, and taught IT classes in community centre’s all over Camden Borough. Robert manages his own web servers hosting eCommerce sites he developed for clients, including no-profit organisations that he is a member of.

Robert’s Activities away from Work

Organising Hiking & Camping in the British Countryside

Robert organises regular hikes and camping expeditions in the British countryside. Robert also stays active in the gym and plays competitive squash.

Robert is a member of the Civil Service Club and a member of the backgammon team there.

Active in the Community

Robert is an active member of the community in Clerkenwell, participating in Clerkenwell Close Tenants Association and the Clerkenwell Green Preservation Society, liaising between residents and the local borough council amongst other organisations. Robert designed and manages the websites for both organisations.

Voluntary Roles

Robert is a regular volunteer for Prostate Cancer UK, collecting money at various events and at football matches.

Robert also volunteers his time at an Ethiopian community centre, providing IT support to the centre and church they are connected with.
